One of the new comics I found just this weekend, Skin Horse has that interesting combination of weird and funny that I really enjoy. According to the description, the comic tells the story of a U.S. government agency which “aids and assists the U.S. population of nonhuman sapients.” That leaves the door wide open for almost anything (yes, thing) to jump in as a character. Not too far into the opening sequence we actually have a character use the sentence “A 600 pound mutant pussycat grown in a lab by a guy named “Doctor Bloodworth,” and what’s more, it makes sense.
Skin Horse takes it’s name from a character from the classic book The Velveteen Rabbit. Also, I don’t know if this is significant or not, but the comic appears to be online at both its own site and at GoComics.com as well.
